I've been reading about making some homemaid octain booster. The articals I've seen talk about, toluene, torco, xylene, transmission fluid and one even talkes about using Goof Off. It's hard to find 100 octain around Marietta Ga. My question is has anyone had much experience with making your own octain booster and what are the effects it might have one the fuel pump, lines & carburator.:WOW:
If anyone has a recipe for octain booster that works would you share it?:confused4:
Thanks, Woody

One of my friends here in Kingston has been a machinist for 40 years. He says he uses 1 oz. of kerosene for 1 gallon of gasoline as an octane booster. He swears it absolutely works and has never had a problem in his high compression motor. Have never tried it and will talk to him more. I have used max lead 2000 and was going to use Octane Supreme additive, but they are now gone and can't find them anywhere. Last choice is to use some AvGas or Racing fuel. Who knows for sure?

If I remember right, toluene is a cancer causing liguid. I would be very carefull mixing things like that. It was a banned substance in the GM plant where I worked.
