I've been in the process of rebuilding the front suspension on my 1972 GS 455 Convertible. I was actually having a problem with the front rt spring rubbing on the frame(really). I thought that there might be something bent so I deceided to replace everything. I got all new a arms, springs, even rotors caliper w/pads ect.

When I dissembled the suspension I found that the spring was not seated in the upper seat correctly (at least I know what was causing that). The new a arms came assembled bushings ball joints. The lower came with the oblong rear bushing which I like. After reassembling I took a short roadtest,I heard some noises which I was going to retorque the a arms.

Now for my problem what I found was the front bushings on the lower control arms both sides had worked out causing the a arm to rub on the frame. I thought maybe I should have checked the bushings before I put the arms on,so I took them off seated the bushings my self reassembled everything roadtested again same thing happened just the front bushing worked out. I think the problem must be the bushing to a arm fit? I've sent the lower arms back to OPGI there sending 2 more has anyone run in to this or have any ideas? Thanks Woody:confused4:

They are most likely Chinese made junk with the same for the bushings. I would never trust them. Far better to get nice originals with name brand bushings and ball joints. I have rebuilt a few sets and never had a problem. Glad to know about those new ones. Sorry you are having problems. If the bushings worked their way out those things are crap.
