ST300 Shift

OK, I had my ST300 for a 67 GS CA 340 rebuilt and now it is in the car.
It works great if I shift manually, but when I slow down it holds in 2nd gear
til almost stopped, then clunks back into first. It will shift 1-2 @ a little higher rpm
than normal. Shifting manually it is smooth and feels great.

Whats happening to keep from 1-2 shift? why will it shift at a lower speed when
manually operated?

I don't know Ted, it does have the vacuum mod like the TH-350 & 400, right? If you have a vacuum leak, it could cause some strange operation, but I'd suspect the re-build. Where is Mark Deconte when you need him?:CRAP::confused4:
