Thinking about picking up this nice 70 Skylark 350, but i dont know much about these cars i mean ive done my fair share of research but someone on this website probaboly knows better than i do. Its a nice car solid and driveable, but the guy who is selling it says the transmission started slipping randomly. He said that it could either be on the way out or it could just need a new filter and fluid. Its the tranny that is original to the car, although the engine is not, its a rebuilt 350 gs with about 30k. And rear quarter is deffinetely going to need to be replaced. Hes asking around 2k and he lives pretty far so before i make the journey to go check this out what do the professionals with these types of cars think? Please answer back soon and thank you. Looks like a nice driver, you should have a lot of fun with it. The trans will likely need to be rebuilt or replaced, either way the money seems right to me (however I would still try to talk him down). It is a buyers market out there...
