Gary,

There are damn few(!!!!) 70-72 cars that would make me consider owning one. I could count them on 1 hand without my thumb. BUT that car of yours is one of them. I peeked at it in BG last year, and actually "considered" one. And it being "kinda" quick doesn't hurt much either HAHA...........

Garys car is one of those..."you gotta see it for real cars". But then you also have to see Jim Rodgers car live. Both of those cars are in my top 10 favs and they also run like animals.

Thanks to both you guys for your passion in keeping the Buick name in lights ! We all enjoy your cars !:TU: :TU:

I still have the Bogarts on the rear, and now have Bogarts on the front as well. I went with a 15X10 on the rear, and sold the 15X8.5's.

I got to look at Jim Rodgers car at last years 25th Nats, and all I can say is WOW! this thing is clean and fast, reminds me of Joe Chubas race car, so immaculate the you could eat off of it! but then they would be mad that you got crumbs in the car! and off course nothing wrong with clean!

Nice pair of Buicks Ken. The 70, well there isnt anything I can say about it that you dont already know, but its NICE. The 72 is cool with nice and crisp body lines. I like the color, what is it?

03-08-2006, 12:02 PM
Thanks Jim, The '72 is Crystal Blue, the original color but now in base coat/clear coat. The '70 My dad painted it at the house and I did the stripes it was just a random color we picked out of a Dupont color book. I like your car alot too. As a mater of fact, I bought the fiberglass front bumper from you a few years ago, I just haven't installed it yet. I plan to do that this spring along with a few more changes.

Sorry to disappoint you "G"Dave, but yes the 4000lb Mighty Stage1, that has no top end charge because of a 750 carb and 2'' exhaust, managed to squeak out a lowley 13.450 et. @ only 98.71mph.

But I would like you to take note of the amaizing 60' time of 1.888 on wasted B.F. Goodrich T/A radial street tires. Let's see if you can beat that 60' foot time with your new slicks !

I am possibly buying a 1972 skylark 455. Its in real good condition, will post pictures later. Only wants 2500 for it. I work at a "real" car parts store, not like autozone and the like and am member of a local restoration club. I own a 1974 duster with a 502 and a big weind supercharger poppin through the hood( my baby). I have recently gotten interested in buicks. I love the boattails!

Just reread this whole post...some beautiful Buicks on here, and some pretty funny chit...made me laugh.

A little long while since this thread started but here's my "other" car, finally with the restored Motor Wheel Spyders back on. It's gonna get a taller old style ribbed Firestone skinny tire up front to make it look more period correct.
