I pulled my intake off today and it looks like there is oil in the intake ports on the heads. There is probably only 100 miles on the motor and the plugs look to be burning nice and clean. You can also see oil on the lower half of the intake gaskets both on the intake side and the head side. Looks like I need to get my intake milled but I have no idea how much the block and heads have been cut.

If the motor is pulling air from the crankcase into the intake ports how would this affect the way the motor runs? The reason I ask is that this motor needs alot of ignition advance to run (32* at idle). Could this be my problem?

Did you degree the cam? Also some cams have an overlap, so good valve seals need to be installed on both the intake and exhaust valve stems. Anyway I thought the oil could be getting there by leaking down the intake valve stems.

I degreed every lobe on the cam and yes, good valve seals were installed. I've determined that the intake is leaking on the inside and both Jim Burek and Dave Ray agree that this could cause the motor to want more ignition advance to run. Now I just need to determine what I need to do to fix the intake.
