Hi All....am soooooo darn close to getting ready to actually assemble my 430 i can smell the oil! Last posting i was having trouble finding heads...got that solved with TA performance stage 1 heads! all new bearings, cam, intake, carb, pistons with block bored .30., flex plate, etc... you get the point. everything is new. now i have to look at the ignition.
what im hoping for is some tried and true components from you veterans!
Best type of Distributor?
Best type of plugs?
Have looked at the MSD 8552 Billet Distributor...and the parts store says you have to run an external coil and a box of some kind. isn't this over kill? isn't there a performance alternative to an upgraded HEI unit?
But, have gone this far..and am looking for the best solution.
Very much looking forward to your help.
thanks in advance.
Rick

Does anyone have an honest turnaround time for one of Daves distributors?
I've heard some guys some people have gotten theirs right away and some have had to wait quite awhile.

But Dave did mine quick as a flash, though it was probably 4 yrs ago. Possibly some have had delays if they failed to follow Dave's instructions.:SMART:

Yup, Dave is very meticulous about his instructions, and some people just can't follow instructions no matter what. It's all spelled out in his specification sheet

I believe he was having some medical issues about 9 months ago. That was a cause of some delay in people getting parts. But make sure to follow his needs and instructions to a T. but for about 200 bucks for a freshly rebuilt converted distributor ready to slide in connect plug wires and set the timing is a good deal.
