And I need a garage. Anyone have or know of garage space somewhere in the tri-state area (preferrably Ct) that I can rent for the winter?

Dude, my brother-in-law in Milford will make a phone call or 2 today. I'll know something by tomorrow or Wed. Let's keep our fingers crossed.
Here's an idea... why not rent a storage garage and dump that mountain of crap that is taking up the other bay of your mother's garage, then park the cat in her nice clean bay??? There can't possibly be anything in that pile that you will need immediate access to that you can't drive to the storage place to get in a day or so.
I can come up a day or so before Christmas and help you use a front loader to put it all in the bed of your Avalanche...

Actually, that was all my dad's stuff. He was a victim of what I call "depression era thinking". If some item still might have some use, hang onto it just in case you might need it. For example, I can remember him hammering straight used nails. Don't get me wrong, he wasn't a cheap man by any stretch. He just couldn't stand to throw anything out.
The garage has been mostly cleaned since then....

Ya know, If cars had soul's (which I think they do...) and could talk (some say they do) I bet your 'Cat would be thanking YOU !!
This IS a WildCat afterall ... not some LeSabre or Elecra !! After sitting around all those years waiting for someone to play with her, someone finally takes her out on a Friday or Saterday nite date ... caresses her with a wet soapy towel, Treats her to some fine dining (drinking only TopShelf distilled products) and takes her to the car playground to play !!!
What more could a gal ask for ??
