Just thought I would share my experiences. Today I made one more step in completing my 72 GS. A 200 4r was wired up for 4th gear lock up. What a great learning experience.

Phil,

I am sure that once you get your car running down the interstate in fourth gear with the converter locked up you will really appreciate it!!! Gas ain't cheap and you will not use nearly as much now that you are running that transmission!! A few other "side effects" should be that you run cooler on the highway and that you might take off a little quicker from the steep first gear in that trans. :BEERS:

Also if the trans was built well and you have a "good" lockup torque converter you might be able to lock it up while running at the dragstrip for a little better ET and MPH!!

I installed one of these in my car last winter. What a difference on the highway. I went from buzzing at about 3200 rpm's at 70 mph to around 2200 rpm's. I love it. I have a switch for the lockup because it wants to lockup at around 45 mph and then the car is lumping around at 1200 rpm's. But it's worth every dime in my opinion. Good luck.
