View Full Version : 2007 Cecil County Buick Race Meet
Some new changes made to make this event even greater than the previous years!
Payouts: This year we will have increased total payouts to over $6,500 for racers!:YA:
We will be hosting the final round of the TSO Points Challange. This should be extremely exciting to watch the Turbo Outlaw cars battling it out on their final points meet of the year. No doubt there will be some record setting quarter mile times!:WOW:
Vending....YES, it's FREE to everyone!!!! Just pay the spectator fee and set up shop. No cost this year for all vendors! :TU:
Friday's Test n Tune session is now open for all different cars to race. A great time to set up your car or set up some grudge runs. Saturday still remains Buick powered only.
Time is running out on hotel rooms.
Was told August 15th is the deadline for the club rates. THe above flyer for Cecil states August 1st, that was extended to the 14th. For those who already booked a room for the Cecil Meet please call them to reconfirm as the management changed hands (410) 287-7100
Same goes for the Buick Performance Weekedn at E-Town, call asap to hold your room.

Look for my 73 as well as my buddy Brett and his 72 X convertible and Kevins yellow car to make their way to this event. It will be the first time I have brought a Buick to any event since 1986-1987...We are planning to make the drive down on saturday am and hang out till sat evening. I have been working on my heap every night to make a go of it.

I've got a couple of questions.
I don't remember from last year but do you need mufflers for the track rental on Friday?
I've got a couple of brand "x" friends who are interested in bringing cars down. I know they can run test and tune on Friday but is there test and tune on Saturday or only if they can fit it in? Also, would they be able to run the Gamblers on Friday or will that be just for Buicks?
Looking forward to this event. With the right air, I'm looking for the wagon to dip into the 10.60's. Or should I drop in a blue bottle and run with Bill...

Hey Butch,
1. No mufflers required.
2.If your friends are a-payin' on Saturday, they're a-racin' on Saturday!
3. They cannot run in the Gamblers race. Buicks only.
4. I sent you an e-mail on an unrelated topic.
5. See Ya there!
EDIT - Of course, by racing on Saturday, I mean T&T, not eliminations. Also, my e-mail came back. Rob G must've given me a bad address for you.

Wow, I was just asking some general questions...and now Moses feels the need to beat me down a bit. Hmmm, I didn't see him in the Q16 final.:PANTS: Bring that wagon to Cecil - I'll put a NY style hurtin' on ya. Heck, you can even throw one of your "little" V6 motors in there - it won't make a difference!
Doug, thanks for answering the questions. Looks like there will be at least a turbo Mustang down at Cecil. My buddy's SVO 4 banger runs high 11's so feel free to pick on him all weekend. Oh yeah, he's got some of Rob's pulleys on that motor too!
As for email addresses, email me at home buickwagon@aol.com or at work paul.cassidy@ge.com

No mufflers are needed at Cecil. Your friends are welcome to run both days but you know Saturday is pretty busy so I cannot say how many runs they would get but I'm sure 2 or 3 should be no problem. The gamblers race use to be Buick only but I guess we can open it up to other makes or possibly 2 gamblers races if there are enough non Buicks. Maybe we can do one for $10 and another for $20 for the true gamblers.
Some of our staff are going down Wednesday nite to meet with the other chapters to get the ball rolling and I will bring up your questions about the gamblers race. Thanks for asking.

Thanks John. Yeah, Saturday usually is quite crowded with the Mandra cars at the track too. No problem if they can't run the gamblers either - I was just wondering in case they wanted to get in on some racing while they're there. If it were up to me, I think we should just force my buddies Mustang to run a Buick each T&T just to rub it in a little. I know a certain 'big red' convertible that would be a really good match for the Mustang...and he's got experience beating Mustangs both at NTR and Atco!:TU:
