This isn't to cause trouble, just to clear up an inconsistency.

I was looking over the membership list which I'd assume to be reasonably up to date. If I read it right, a couple directors seem to have expired memberships.

Maybe the Directors deserve free memberships considering all the volunteer time they put in, that's their call, and I'd support it. However, it doesn't seem logical that the directors are not all shown as current members on the membership list. If I read it wrong, sorry about that.

The directors are doing a great job, thanks again for all your time and efforts making this club the success that it has been.

I would like to see more of the members keeping their dues up to date so we don't have to worry about funding issues. There are quite a few familiar names on the membership list with dates before 2007.

:PUZ:

Have you seen how hard these guys work? :GT:

Which current BOD's aren't paid up? Heck, I'd pay their dues!

I know Rick always forgets. He doesn't remember until we don't send him a "Buildsheet".

Also we do not get free memberships, we pay the same as everyone else.
Duane

PS. Rick has sent a check and is now payed up.

I wasn't trying to pick on Rick. I realize what it is like to be an unpaid board member of something. For me it was a condo association which was probably much easier than what you guys are going through. Nevertheless, I got sued for what I was doing for free and it in the end it was an enormous headache.

It seems to me that you and the mods should be current, even if it's a free pass for your donated time. I'd be all for that. But your memberships should be current to be on the BOD, that's just sort of common sense.

Like I said, the real shame is to see how many regulars aren't current. It's great that the club doesn't press people to be members to participate on the boards or events, but there has to be a reasonably high level of self compliance to make it work. Otherwise some friendly sort of enforcement may be worth considering.

I'm not sure why I got on this today. But looking at the roster it just seemed like the dues collections are not up to what they need to be to keep the club going versus the number of people taking advantage of the benefits.

Long live the BPG...

Incidentally, it would be great if the Membership Roster could be sorted by name or state besides being by number. It would be easier to find people. Also, is there a reason that the member's user ID on BPG site is not shown? Again, when looking to contact a member this would help a lot.

Thanks again to the BOD for all your time and work to make this work. I really appreciate it.

Mike, all you have to do is highlight the entire roster with your mouse, then right click and copy. Open Excel and paste it into a spreadsheet, then you can sort as you wish. Though I do agree it would be sweet if we could do it on the site.

At this point in our club year, while we have some time, couldn't we post the names of any members who's membership might have lapsed as a friendly reminder to bring your membership up to date. :TH:

Also, post what constitues our "Club Year" and when we should send in our renewal?

I know I always have to ask Brad if I'm current. :DOU:

We are on a calendar year for memberships. Renewals are included in a newsletter around the year end. For mid-year registrants, there is a date, maybe in the fall, where a newly registered member is actually getting the coming year's membership, instead of a short year then having to pay again. At least that is how it has been explained in the past.

There are a LOT of old dated members on the roster. I suggested some time ago that we should think about maybe sending postcards out with a friendly invitation to renew. I see a lot of names that really surprised me. :WOW:

I wanted to add a little joke about that, but thought it best to just zip it. I've never received one of those notes, have had to settle for being impersonated in national muscle car mags... :DOU::RE:
