''John
I spoke with our tech inspector Jay Shea, and he said that you would be ok to run the buick 350 in the Late Model division.

well, i got my answer. now i have to talk to them about the rules for 350's.

since my memory is short, i need some help. need to know stock head cc's, int/exh ports sizes and which casting number goes with those numbers. c/rods and pistons are not an issue.

hopefully we can prove we can run with the chevies.

the rules http://www.staffordspeedway.com/Pages/Multimedia/Downloads%20Word_PDF_Files/2007-LTD-LM-RULES.htm

More details, you really gonna run nascar?
or you talking drag racing?

someone said this is stock stuff, some said it NHRA stuff. Not real sure as the number aren't like through the roof.

i'm going to build a motor. want to prove it can run with them. i looked at the rules and i think it can be done.
i can get a driver and he can get sponsors, but i am not buying a car. thats beyond my wealth.
with the new c/rods and piston availability, that cures the bottom end and compression. i need to find info on the head castings because they are all not alike. cam lift can only be .450, but what the rest of it will be is unknown. will be calling the cam guys. too bad we are limited to 1 5/8 headers. 1 3/4 would be nice. maybe porting out a stock set would work.

just what i need, another project.........:DOU:

footnote;

what i really need is a 20 yr old body to keep up with all this...lol

Dude if ya lived a bit closer id donate all the help n free time I got to help prove that point. Would be so worth it. If my life wasn't as on track as it is now id just show up one day and live in your garage under the car to help prove that point.

I'm so sick in the head about it if Nascar had an on ramp id hit the signal and merga in with the Buick wagon and give it everything its got.

Ran into a guy at the local roundy track a few weeks ago running a 350 SBB in the super stock class.

He says the car will keep up with the chevys, just he can't drive it as well, yet.

We were at the track last weekend. He was running, but lost a wheel in the B-main. by the time we got to the pits, he was gone.

I'll keep trying.
