:SMART:Just a general subject does anyone have a good way to clean an older alternator case,it's not that bad but I would like it to look new. Also has anyone had luck installing an internal regulator alternator on a non internal set up (71-72). I have seen the wiring adapter kits but was wondering if anyone has used them with luck ?
And how is the best way to tell a 750cfm quadrajet from a 800cfm. Is there a throttle plate measurment for the primary & secondary that would indicate this?

Thanks Woody

the adapter kits work fine,i sell them.just plug them in,tuck the regulator harness behind the fender & if you want to go back to stock you havent damaged anything.another plug goes from the 10 si to the original harness, once again no mods & just remove for stock.
glass beading is the way to go if the housings are rough.another trick is to spray clear paint on a portion of one & wipe it off, quickly, before it dries.if the dirt isnt too bad,it acts like a de-greaser without imbeding the crap in the aluminum.
