I'm planning on a swap using a s/c 3.8 and i need to know if any rwd trannies will boltup to the motor.

I believe that a camaro/firebird 4l60E will bolt up. Not sure about the S10 trans. The series I and series II have the 60 degree bolt pattern.

So would a 5 spd from a 2.8 or 3.4 boltup?

Yes, but you may need to machine the crank to accept a pilot bushing.

I was thinking about that, have an idea of how much it would cost?

Do these motors still have the holes on the side for motor mounts?

Mike, I've been searching the answer to this same question. I want to put one in a skylark but can't seem to find someone that knows for sure. Is the 4l60 tranny have the universal bolt pattern box or a chevy only pattern? I know the 3800 came in the Camaros but not supercharged so I know I can use one of those blocks but wonder if all the blocks have that same provision.

I know for sure that the early 3800's had provision for mounts on the side. That changed later on but I am not sure when. Sorry!
