Pretty simple actually. If you remove the panel directly under the steering column, there is a wire link that connects to a lever that moves the shift indicator. The other end of the link is held to the external portion of the column that rotates with the shifter. The link is held there with a small 1/4" bolt, so it is adjustable there. Couldn't find a picture. Hope that helps.
