Hey Pat, I just got paid for what is most likely my final snow OT of the year, and even though this pay period it was barely over $300, I'll take whatever I can get. I'm sure you did way better than me this winter, what with all the times you were just out salting alone. We don't get much OT for that since we just take care of the hospital property. I think I might have made two grand this whole winter! Anyway, when I got my check today, I mentioned to one of my guys that this was probably the end of the snow overtime. Then it hit me!! I just, at that moment, invented a new word in the English language.....SNOVERTIME!!!!! :YA::YA: I want this to be a bond between us from this day forward. Anyone else on the BB who is in the "push the snow around" fraternity is welcome to join in our online posts about how many hours we spent making SNOVERTIME.:YA::YA: I really do crack myself up! Whattaya think of my word? :TU:

I didn't have much snovertime this year, mostly because I got really sick of doing it. We had a couple of private accounts, and that was it. It was nice being able to sleep in during the snow storms this year!

I hate to be a Snowvertime HOG.....But, this winter time Snovertime brought about $5500 bucks into my home. Between the 20 plus hours of double time pay and shiff differential and the nearly 190 hours of time and a half plus shift differential, plus triple time plus the hours worked on 2 holidays, made paying credit cards off easier. I hope we get about 400 hours OT starting in October 08 just to make the Governor skittish..They keep trying to skimp on manpower, but it bites them in the ass everytime and we have to work alot more hours to clean up the storms...I Love it...Give me SNOVERTIME!!!!

Great minds think alike! :TU: I figure that since we got squat for snowfall last year and this year, next year might be the year that snovertime buys me a new motor. Here's hoping.....:BEERS:

Yeah, I probably had 50 hours this winter. I'd need another 250 to pay for all the parts and machine work that I need. All I've done so far is replace the planetary gear set in the 'glide, had the Crank Shop fix my Moldex, and had Greg Gessler fix my heads. That's already $1900 I've spent so far since October and that burned up all my snovertime. Somehow, with Spring's arrival, I don't see another 250 hours of snovertime coming any time soon. Sigh, oh well. :CRAP:

Love the new word, Doug!!! I get a little snovertime at work, but it's just our lot and it usually ends up on straight time. I have, however been cranking out the overtime this year. On my paystub dated 21 Feb, I have $6218 in OT and it ain't even the end of March yet!!!:WOW:

About a month ago it started snowing overnight on a Thursday night and I got "the call" at 2:30 am. I looked out the window and told myself that it wasn't enough to get my ass out of bed for and went back to sleep. Got up a half hour early and saw eight inches of snow out there! I was upset! Not only is it harder to clean the property with all those cars parked all over the place, but I cost myself five hours of snovertime. I got in at 7:30, only a half hour before straight time started, plowed all day on straight time, and wound up staying at work until 10:30 pm. Seven hours of snovertime that could have been twelve hours if I'd gotten out of bed when the Public Works Dept called. Idiot! :DOU: On top of that, twice this winter it snowed while I was away. Once while I was in Florida, and once while I was in Atlantic City for the Collector Car Auction. Just my luck!
