Mandatory fire extinguishers for next year's car show

For next year,all participants at next year's car show will have to have a fire extinguisher and NO EXCEPTIONS. If you do not have a fire extinguisher at the show,your car will not be judged.

I thought that has always been mandatory? Have we been lax in enforcing this?

Well Dave,it appears some people have forgotten to bring a fire extinguisher,and when I was judging the other classes in this past show,there were several cars that didn't have one. More and more car shows are requiring that fire extinguishers be with a car because of insurance regulations.

Heck, I even carry one in my 73 whenever I go. Cost was about 15 bucks but ease of mind is worth way more than that...

I know we were told in 04 not to show up w/o one. I've also always carried one in my 68. Reminds me I need to put one in the 98 Riv also. Same exact engine as the GTP's and Regal GS's that have had a recall due to engine fires...

I agree with you,Adam. To save time when someone pulls up to the gate,fire extinguisher must be shown. We will not have time to open trunks and check vehicles for them.

I have a suggestion,
How about the club buys a few cheap fire extinguishers and we have them available for sale for the guys that forget theirs? Sound good?

I also keep two in the '65, out of the boxes, ready to rock and roll. Not locked in the trunk.

Can't be so cavalier that I would hope that a trucker would be rolling by in my time of need!!
