Well i'm a noob to the site. Great info here. What brought me here is my 71 455 that i'm dropping into an ol 69 chevy truck. It came out of an Electra, and i'm looking to rebuild it. Gaskets, rings, bearings *minus the cam bearing*, timing chain, and maybe a new little hotter then stock cam and lifters. Any idea where i might be able to round up an all in one kit??

Any suggestions on what needs to be done. I''m just needing something that will break the tires loose, and still get decent mpg.

Here are the numbers off my motor.
BLock #1231738 red
Intake B-1236403
Heads h-6 1237661

I don't have the numbers off the exaust manifolds, but i assume they are 71 also. Any idea what HP i might expect? I've seen on a few sites that stock it was around 315.

Go to the link below. They have everything you need for the Buick 455 in stock, and you can get a pkg deal too! :BEERS:

Look at their cams, then call Mike. Mike will recommend based on your needs, straight shooter. :SMART::TU:

Hope that chevy truck has 4 wheel drive, you have no problem lighting them rear tires up. The 455 is a torque monster...

Welcome to the BPG!!!:HI:
