Richmond makes their"street" gears in a 3.55:1 ratio brand new for a 8.2" BOP rear. You will need the "big" carrier for them. Aurburn makes a Pro Series one of those too....3.23:1 VS 3.55:1 is really very little, try one a a zillion calculators on line for gear ratios and see if they will work. Jerry

what I have is a 2.93 right now and the book tells me that for that carrier I can move up to a 3.08 or a 3.23,I was hoping to avoid having to buy a bigger carrier. So will your ring and pinion marry up to my carrier, Monza told me to look for a 3.23 from a 67,68,69 firebird or a 65,66 buick station wagon, and I'm not sure, but isn't your rear end a 8.5 and will that work with a 8.2 b.o.p.

Greg,

If you're still looking, I've got a set of 3.23 gears for the 8.2, although I'm not sure of what year or what model they're from, so I don't know exactly what they'll fit. I know they would not fit my GS, because my ring gear used 7/16" bolts, and I believe the bolts were also left-hand thread.

Ring gear: 42 teeth
Pinion gear: 13 teeth, 27 spline
Ring Gear Bolts: 3/8 - 24 Right-Hand-Thread
Condition: Good Used

I bought these from another board member several years ago and they've been sitting around ever since.

If you think you can use them, I'll let them go for $50.00 including shipping.

Let me know.

Larry
