Hi
I have a 69 Buick Special 2 dr post. The car has a 69 skylark GS hood on it.
I am thinking of swaping the 350 engine with a 455.
1) Will the current air cleaner line up with the hood holes for the ram air after the swap ?
2) Where can I purchase 455 engine mounts to frame stanchions ?
3) Is the bolt pattern the same on the back of the engine so I can use my bellhousing ?
Thanks for any info you can help with !

Welcome!

1) Yes. There will be a slight difference in height, but no big deal.
2) I'm not sure on that one...someone will be along shortly with an answer for you.
3) Any modern BOP (Buick, Olds, Pontiac) transmission will work. Your Turbo 350 trans will bolt up, but with the torque of the 455 and a stock Turbo 350, the current trans will be not long for this world.

Thanks Brad,
My current trany is a tremec 5 speed - my concern there is the 11 inch clutch I am running - I think I was limited to the 11 inch cos of the flywheel on the 350.

TA has BBB frame pads, you should also install new front springs for the added weight of the BBB.

Thanks for the tips - I didn't think of the springs
