fix it or dump it??? that is the question

My daily driver is an SSEI Bonniville w/ the supercharged 3800. At 161,000 miles it decieded it was time to spin a rod bearing. I'm looking for options here. A new long block is about 3 grand fron GM forget the bone yards the just laugh, I not sold on a "rebuilt" I don't want to end up with non Vin 1 parts in it, and to handbuild the motor will cost way more than the car is worth. Does anyone have a GOOD motor for sale or want a project car that needs an engine. It's a really nice car. So what do you guys think?? Jerry

Did you contact Morad Parts in the Cleveland area? He parts out TONS of late model 3800 series cars and I'm sure would have an engine you could use. He's on all the Regal GS boards & late model Riv boards. Ebay link: http://stores.ebay.com/Morad-Parts-Company

John, I contacted Morad and they told me the Bonnie motor is different??? He's going to try to find one for me or may buy the car. Either way Gail and I need a 4 door(Buick or Buick powered) perferred, she's a grandma now! , and I'm just waiting for that same phone call from phil!! Keep a look out for me .
