I have a 72 GS 455 convertible that I bought a year or so ago from a speed equipment company owner in St Louis. I haven't had the engine apart at all so I don't know anything about the internals other than from 3,000 up it comes on like a bear. I've never found any numbers on the engine block to see what it is or the vin.
Today I replaced the power steering pressure hose so I removed the pump and brackets to check for the vin stamped on the drivers side of the block. The only thing I found stamped was (Al Weiss).
I found that there is a AL Weiss in Witchita Falls Tx that did or does machine work,I'd like to find out more about the engine other than it has a girtle fitted to the botton of the block and roller rocker arms. I'm sure at some point I'll pull it down but till them I someone can help it would be appreciated.Woody
