oh i know
you think thatsince I got a 2012 car i'd have it done quicker..but its been quit the opposite!
I admit, ive def been slacking but will ge tit done as i'mstarting to miss cruising in the "ol boo ick"
finally pulled the engine and trans out. dropped the trans off at the trans shop. so far we have broked gears in the converter.damn that v6 power.
will know more tomorrow.
also ask sanderson headers how much for a set v6 zoomies. i think $800 is a wee bit too much.

That sux. Did the converter come with the trans? $800 for 6 pipes! That's an awful lot of money.
Carl Creque
converter was from another setup i bought. found a guy that sells mandrel bent tubes. i have flanges and car builder down the will weld them up.
trans guy said converter destroyed. trans need work too. trans and converter will be 3 times the money i put into the car to get it track ready, not counting purchase.

Sorry to hear that John. Hope you get it back together yet this season.
Carl Creque

Cool. Can't wait to hear how it does.
Carl Creque
well, i know we won't be taking the rail to epping. the trans issue has deepen because of location/mounting of everything. apparently something is off and the trans guy wants it right before it goes back together. ok by me. back to the door car WITHOUT a s/c on it.

Sorry to hear that, John......but I like your never give up spirit!
Carl Creque
indicate, indicate, indicate......sledgehammer is next. grrrrrrrrrrrrr

got the trans and converter back and got a little poorer. anyways, got the engine and trans back in tonight. a pain wiggling them back in the chassis. maybe i will have running for epping.
i pulled the s/c of the 73 and went back to the s/p. seems almost the same. we'll see.

Sounds good, John. Get that rail back out there.
Carl Creque
progress is good. most of it is back together. i have to add a trans cooler. right! find enough room is like trying to put size 8 shoes on a size 12 foot. it may be a 192" long, but space is limited on a fed. but anyways, got the thing started, then a loud rap developed. well, i used collared bolts for the flywheel/converter. the gap between the flywheel and motor plate is not much. the bolt heads were hitting the motor plate. had to take them out and take off .060 to solve the noise issue. need finish up the trans cooler, adjust shifter cable, put the skin on and we will be ready to try or break it again. lol

as always,, it nice to work on a 44 yr old dragster.
. finally figure out the shifter issue. it wasnt at the trans cable, it was at the shifter. dont know if this was a marketed product or homemade. the issue was it had too much flex at the end of the cable bracket. rework it and now it works better.
