its all together. tried it out in the driveway and it seemed ok until i rev in neutral or park about 2500 rpms. i am getting a bad shake. last nite i disco the converter and tried again. same bad shake. i guess when it broke last time it messed up the flexplate. will have to try another one and see if that cures it. it better!

it's hell trying to find stuff in my garage. took me an hour to find another flexplate that was correct. all back together now. need to take it out in the driveway to see if it cured the problem. but i almost tossed the v6 and put in the 350. if i didn't have the inglese/weber setup and blower sitting there, i probably would have.

well it's been a long time since last post. damn hot weather and farming has slowed me down a bit. the only time we have taken the 'bones' out is to car shows which we throw the kiddies in it. glad the shows are over and its cooler.
disco the converter tonite to check the shake again. still there at 2500 rpm. let's try changing plug wires. found enough old ones to change them. doesn't shake till 3k now. another novel idea dummy. l think i should buy some new plugs and wires.
going to also see if i can move the shifter higher so we can have some hand and knee room with the steering wheel.

dragster is done for the season. old airheart calipers need work and nobody will touch them. have to find a wilwood setup that will work on it.
the simplest things cause the biggest problems.

there are no numbers on the calipers. the only thing would be the mounting measurement and it is approx 4 3/16". i talked to a guy at wilwood last night and he kind of blew me off. what's wrong with these west coast people.............

Are they triangular shaped or more rectangle?
Are there two bleeders on the face of the caliper?
Ford or Chevy spindles?
Can you get your son to take a picture?
Airheart still has parts for calipers made in the early 80's so I should be able to find a rebuild kit.
They are pretty easy.

one bleeder screw on top. mopar rear. looking at wilwoods flange pictures/sizes, nothing matches mine dimensionally.
tolomatic who owns airheart won't touch them. pretty much everybody else says they belong on the shelf.
i sent a drawing with dimensions to wilwood. waiting for them to see if they can come up with an answer.
definately an oddball.

i got those stinking airheart's fixed and working good. so much for antiques. i had picked up a gm trans cooler a while ago. couldn't find a really good spot to mount, but i did. took out the radiator bracket and welded 2 pieces of metal on the bottom side. fits nice. doesn't really hang down below the chassis. get some tune up parts and try to get the zoomie headers done.

we ran the 'bundle of pipes'. went faster than i thought with the v6. it ran the best of 11.77 @111.i was surprised to say the least. if i put in the 350, i figured it would run low 9's. tomorrow will be another day.

day 2 at cecil; weather was warmer and the best we ran was 11.88@110. not bad for engine that sat in the garage for yr and half. car ran smooth and straight says 'the kid'
what kind of punishment should i give him next..........
