been a lousy year to go racing. too much rain and heat. aka rain tan and sun tan.
aug 25th has a somewhat nostalgia race at epping. hopefully the weather is GOOD!!!

epping weather started off nice and cool. but got warmer because there wasn't much cloud cover so the track wasn't the greatest.

first pass was a 9.30.....huh, what's the problem. no pedal to the metal.
second pass was 9.02 @147+. cool. hoping next pass could be an 8'er.
    third was a 9.07. sheesh.....
first round of elim's; jerk in the other lane was a jerk. makes us wait for him. but jerk redlighted. deserved it.
the launch was not good for the rail. it got out of control from the start. the tires tore up the rubber right down to the cement. the left side
tore up about a foot, the right side tore up about 3 feet. so all that makes the car pull way to the right. no a good scenario.
second round....redlighted and goes 9.70. no 8'er today.
    wait for cecil

Almost 8's with a 350 Buick and no one is paying attention at V8

At least you are getting there I am still struggling to get there but I am close.

The tracks must have been closed for the rest all summer no participants.

running a fed s/c 350 @7500rpm by yourself is tough. nobody out there to compare notes to or talk to. nobody coming even close. when is anybody going to catch up....lol. lot of lookers here, but nothing in return. not even a hi.

lousy summer. ran end of may and end of august. everything in between was rain or 100*. neither very conducive for racing a fed.
hopefully cecil and dover drag reunion weathers are good.

a little trailer maintenance today before cecil. bought these https://www.easternmarine.com/nev-r-...bly-k23-469-00 instead of manual adjusting. getting too old to get down on the ground. like everything with a trailer, there's always an issue. 4 bolts hold the backing plate to the axle. always one that won't come off. got out grinder with a carbide ball and ground the nuts and studs. what a pain.

we ended the season by blowing a #6 head gasket. luckily it blew outwards. no damage done other than pride after 13 yrs NOT breaking anything. build it right and it will last a long time.
while changing h/g, pulled a lifter out to check the bottom since its a new setup. found no wear on lifter or cam and USING non zddp amsoil 10-30 oil. had the cam and gears rem'ed before install. that process works.
