got block and crank back from shop today. put the block on the engine stand. it was a struggle. getting too old to do this. shop said #1 main had .001 wear compared to the rest. told him it was because of the blower.
issue is still what cam do buy next. may just forget the roller.

out of 5 cam companies requests, I got one back. said they will reply. we'll see.
out of curiosity, i contacted mahle pistons since they do BIG advertising of their products. they don't/won't make 283 forged pistons. guess they make too much money on the rest of their inventory.

What do you expect, no one builds a 350. Oh there is one guy on V8 that claims he built 5 engines in the last ten years. They have not ran yet they are waiting for a vehicle. lol.

Try Comp Cam yet I sent info on my 350 to I think Crower about 5 years ago I am still waiting for the info, I guess they forgot lol

Have you tried to find a 350 lately in the junkyard? Those boys in MI are have trouble finding one. Do you think we are a little late on the 350 alum heads...

Comp sent e-mail back wow, and crower advertises that the roller is custom and they won't reply. They do have to work to make one of those, "I am having coffee I don't have time for those Buicks give em a chevy cam" lol.

Hey, all you gotta do is start a post on V8 and all the cam specialists will steer you in the right direction, they have experience in this. lol

But a solid roller cam would be nice I was thinking about that. Yours might be a little tougher to figure out since you have the blower. Maybe you should go over to the V6 guys and see what is going on with them. The blow is different but the same unless a turbo cam and a blower cam are made differently.

can't find a 350...unheard of. I have plenty of engines. couple of 4.1's and 3.8's, couple of 455's, couple of 340's and maybe a dozen 350's and 6 th350's. it sure is tough finding this stuff. I have a core shift one. about 3/8" on one side and 1/8". anchor model. have one that is a replacement for the dragster for wall thickness. I use it for dummy setup's for make stuff. the others I have never looked at.

thought about the solid roller, think i'll stick with a plain solid. don't want to get too complicated.

I'd say yes.... boneyards around here (MI) got rid of everything south of mid 90's. If SP3 came out right after D/P, then heads, we'd be rockin.......

Hopefully some southern or western yards hung on to the 60's & 70's junk.

Have to just find a car with a 350 and part the rest out.

need gsjohnny's blower on the 350 to make that junkyard LsSebra get moving until you get the engine in the LARK.

lot of snow this winter which took a toll my 'old' snow equipment. band aided it for now. and the cold spells slowed me down also.
so....since December I have been trying to get a good blower cam for the engine. currently on the 7th 'name brand' cam supplier. hopefully this one will come thru. all of this has put me behind in my projects, the dragster, the 67 s/c and tom from Indiana 73 chassis mounts and chassis recert next month.
we got accepted for the 2018 Byron, il melt down drags in july. there are 2 bigs shows on the same w/end and we took this one, the furthest away. lol. the weather is warming up, hopefully I can get a lot of it done quickly.

don't know which is worse...being old or being stupid. assembling the short block and I had to pull the pistons out(more than once) because I put them in wrong. being a r&d engine with all sorts of non buick parts and NOT taking notes on first time assembly is definitely time consuming on the next go around. pistons done now..correctly.
had cut my thumb pretty good Saturday working on the tractor. today it re-opened and bled buick red all over the engine. pretty good match if I say so myself. lol
