It is hard to find people that give good service, luckily you can make some/fabricate your own stuff then you know it is good.

It does seem that if you mention Buick your done most only know a Chevy and sometimes Ford. I just saw a pic with a 32 or so Ford with a Chevy motor with a supercharger on it. Why not put in a 5.0 Ford motor there are plenty of them out there. Funny thing is I barely know anything about a Chevy motor.

I know one thing, TA better hurry up and get those 350 Aluminum heads out there before we get too old to work on it. I wonder what is holding this project up.

could never go to another brand. would be lost. and besides, there is no challenge.
correct about t/a getting behind on the heads. the s/p should have been done 5 yrs ago. and the should have been done right after.
but alas you can't count on every 350 owner buying these parts. made my s/p 10-12 yrs ago.
for me, my current heads match the short block with a s/c in mind. the alum heads would require me to change the things in this block.
I would have to build another for the alum heads. now if there was an alum block..........

Don't get your hopes too high on that one lol But if they did do the alum block it would be the baddest 350 around.

But then everybody else would want it like a 350 Chevy, bigger valves, bigger bore, 202 Chevy valves and so on. Oh, but we could stroke it more too. lol

I am with ya on those parts taking too long. Has to be a problem with the proto heads making power. Must not be enough study done on this motor on what it wants.

I know it likes a power adder, HUH. LOL

finally all back together. had a run rich issue. found the carb base screws loose and gas just pouring in. tighten them all up and it runs like a new car.
john and I did 4 driveway passes. the new cam looks like it will make a big difference. we will make some soft passes Saturday b4 wide open.

fwiw...getting old, fat and not working out makes getting out of the rail tough. pulled a damn chest muscle trying to get out.

big battle today. score; mother nature, 1; dragster, 0

hoping for a 8.99 today and didn't get it. first pass was supposed to be a soft pass. went 9.17 @ 144.45. 2nd pass was go for it. 9.21 @ 144.
but it launched hard and carried the wheels about a foot high for about 60'. need to adjust wheelie bars.
1st round of elims, dialed 9.19. it carried the wheels again but went a 9.40 to a loss.
moral of the story......have mother nature turn down the heat to a respectable level. just too damn hot for a s/c eng on gas. alky starting to look better.......

    wait till next time. lol

Still pretty darned good cooler weather and a better launch will get you to 8.99

must be loosing some traction if the soft pass went faster, unless the wheelies are slowing it down.

spinning to 7 grand on it?

not to worried about the wheelies. that's easy to control. summer heat is a blower killer. may have to cut the intake plate like a briggs stratton engine. cooling slots all around.
