72 Skylark drip rail prep before roof panel

I'm getting ready to inatall an AMD roof panel and I noticed a large hole between the front of the drip rail and the pillar on both sides. It had sealer covering it from the factory. The hole is just to the outer corner by the weatherstrip channel. Is it a good ideal to weld a small piece of metal there to cover the hole on each side? Then some sealer before mounting the roof panel.

The roof skin is almost ready to weld down. On the front pillars where the drip rail lip on the panel goes straight forward I was wandering , do you heat that lip up and bend it down to the pillar to weld it down or what is the best thing to do here?

On Buick Performance Club now since Buick took over Buick Performance, one guy said to beat it over without heat so you didn't warp it. I did that after clamping it down and it worked. I started talking to a body man at the dealer who has fixed older cars of his own and he said he would use the 3m 8115 and glue the whole roof down. I am going to glue the drip rail section down and spot weld the front and back down and see how that works. The next thing that I will try is to weld a piece of metal across the seams where the lead was to make a solid connection between the panels. He said even if I use metal to metal filler or fiberglass filler it may crack. The other thing I noticed about the replacement roof panel was the left rear section where the 2 panels met was higher on the roof than the 1/4 panel. If I weld that in than if I evened that up it might look alright. This is going to be a drag, poss street car so it has to look close. This is my first roof panel replacement and I don't want people to say, Hey! is the roof been replaced?
