The New Ride has Arrived

even has a remote Drivers side mirror...I had it outside in the sun when I took pictures...had a guy stop in the street and tell me it was a sharp looking ride...and some bike riders gave me the thumbs up... the previous owner also included a heavy duty car cover and a new trunk mat and spare tire cover. The tires are brand new installed 11/2011. Car starts first time. Has electric choke and some sort of distributor conversion...I will have to have Csordas check it out at the spring meet as I am really clueless at this point. I have all the receipts the owner had as well as owners manuals and books which will be a great help. specially the body book as that shows all the interior and exterior stuff. There are a few dents and dings and some rust coming thru on hood and some stone chips...I have yet to put it on the lift but at first inspection it appears to be original paint...or it was a well done restoration as I cannot see any tell tale signs of overspray...etc...

Nice car. Do you happen to have info for all the previous owners ??? Believe it or not, I swear, I know this car. If you happen to do some former ownership homework, and find it was in Nebraska, give me a holler. If it's the car I think it is, I will be able to tell you alllllll kinds of stuff about it........

Yes I have the previous owner information. Was owned by an older gentleman who passed away about 26 years ago who hailed from California. Car has been in CA since it was made in Fremont I am technically the 4th owner as the 2nd owner bought it to clean up and sell after he bought it from the widow of the original owner.

Thanks Sean, not the car I know then. The one my cousin did was exactly the same though. Skirts, color, interior and all. Enjoy it, best looking body ever done by Buick in my opinion. The 59's are reallly close though haha.........

Its is now titled,registered and insured in NJ I just have to put the plates on...interesting thing is Hagerty wants to insure it for $12K I only wanted $5K but they said based on the pictures I sent and the research they did $12k would be the "Stated Value" of the car.

well that was cool...took the Buick for a drive with my youngest son Tim. We went to local Advance Auto Parts to pick up a beverage holder for my coffee. I opted for one that slides in between window and door. Tim thinks its cool...the car that is...anyway I pull in and the local Import Crowd are there I park and get out and go inside. The manager sees the car and goes outside..he is an older man in his 60's and comes back inside and tells one of the "kids" to go out and check out some American Muscle....we chew the fat for a few mins...I tell him the story how i got the car and how much I paid...blah blah blah... I pay for my coffee holder and Tim got a new key ring. I go out side and the Import guys are swarming the car...hey Mister that's a sharp car...Thats a cool ride...etc....I left with a huge smile on my face. and I punched it leaving the lot and got a little squeak of the tires. Tim who is 8 says Daddy you have the coolest car around...gotta love kids they tell the truth...

Cool story ... now remember to add 15-20 mins to every trip for all the jabberjaw'n you're going to have everytime you take the car somewheres.

99% of the time its cool ... 1% of the time you neeeed to get on your way but some guy wants to tell you about his uncle's brothers' wifes' son-in-laws' girfriends' father who owned a '71 plymouth that looked just like yours ... with the Rocket Cross-Ram Hemi headed side oiler option - straight from the factory !! Also get used to "What year is it ??"

... of course I reply "2012 !!"

A couple of times over the years, I've had older women say "Thats a nice 69 Buick" or even "Nice '69 GS !!" which baffles me since all the "car experts" at the cruise nights never know. In all those cases, the women owned one back in the day. One even had a 4 speed GS ragtop !! Another knew it was a 69 and not a 68 because she bought a 68 and then when they came out with the ram-air hood in 69 she wanted it instead
