Attention BCO and Q-16 Racers!!!

Ok racers..here we go!

This year Denny and I are putting together a BCO and Q16 point series. Tracks participating: Norwalk, Columbus, Midwest Buick Challenge and ending in Cecil County.

This is going to be a trial run to see if we can get something like this together to include more classes in the coming years. Details: Your worst event showing will be tossed out and the other points will be added up. You will pay nothing this year to participate.

How it's going to work. Whenever you race these two classes you are automatically entered into the points series. 1 point for breaking the beams in the first round of eliminations, 1 point for every round win after that and 3 points for winning the event. Simple as that! The more events you attend, the better your chances.

As for the prizes and money, that will be determined. Could be a decent package, could be nothing but a free pass to the next years participating events. We are not going after any Buick event sponsors, because we don't want to take anything away from event purses and we are new at this, so hope for the best :)

I am hoping that this will give our racers something new to get them excited and attending our favorite events!

BCO is a Comp Open class. The rules are in the racing rules section, under 2010, but the rules have not changed.

2010 Official BCO race rules.

These are the rules for the ?€œBCO?€? class (BPG Nationals):

1. Buick Comp Open Eliminator is a comp eliminator style race class run on a sportsman ladder and a .500 Pro tree start. Please refer to general race rules and procedures for details.

2. Buick powered vehicles only

3. Stock style suspension only. Tubular replacements in stock locations allowed. No full or rear chassis cars allowed. Maximum width 10.5" by sidewall designation for slicks and 12.5" for DOT's. **There is no requirement for full interior.

4. Delay boxes, throttle stops, and other electronic devices used for the purpose of improving reaction time, ET, and traction strictly prohibited.

5. Trans brakes and two steps are NOT allowed.

6. Deep staging is NOT allowed.

7. All cars must make at LEAST 2 qualifying runs.

8. The QUICKEST ET from qualifying will become a racer's Competition Index throughout eliminations. Any runs made quicker than your index become a BREAKOUT. Competition will be regulated under standard NHRA "first or worst" competition policy during eliminations, in double red light or double breakout situations.

9. First round "bye" will go to the fastest (ET) car (if needed). After that, it will be determined by how the ladder falls.

Doug...you gotta make sure she knows that it's just not your vacation to race...it's her vacation when you're gone :) Well...that's how Denny explains it to me when he goes on road trips!

I wish it were that easy. She works 12hr 3rd shift so we never see each other to begin with. Add four kids in the mix and me leaving to go racing is not something she looks forward to. Last year she took a cruise to the Bahamas with friends as payback for my racing.

I don't know how many people run BCO and Q16 like I did last year but there's a few cars legal for both. Denny, Doug Paine, Bobb all come to mind. I'm not sure if BCO and Q16 are run at separate times at the other events but the same guy could win the points for both.
