I had trouble starting the race car last night that has the Stinger S4 ignition box on it. When I cycled the power switch to the coil/S4 box than left it on it would start. It had power out there with a test light. Today I checked the voltage and it only has 8 volts when cranking. The battery stays around 11 while cranking. Is that enough volts for that system to work while cranking? I had another one go bad and Fred said it was a connection under the sealer. I was thinking about buying a summit 850700 or a Mallory 667S which I think I can make the retard work if I power up the retard wire with key on and then it should work like the S4. They say that they will work from 8-18 volts. I might have to buy their coil also. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Ron Butz, Big Butz Racing.
