How do I get the hood open if the cable is unhooked at the latch under the hood?

I have a 1987 GN that I can't get the hood open because the cable is unhooked at the latch? The cable moves freely under the hood and from underneath it looks to be all closed off..Any ideas?

No answers? You can get in there with sockets extensions thru the grille or bottom and remove the bolts on the mechanism.
Don't bang on the header panel and crack it.
