Rules are there for all of our safety. Plain & simple have your car meet the rules for the times your car runs & that is it! What is so difficult? If I & everyone one else can make it legal, why shouldn't you be legal? If you can't then don't bother coming.

X2. I ran my Ford Explorer in the charity race at a blistering 18 sec eta and 75 mph. Had the tech staff told me no way due to something safety related, my reply would be "Thanks for bringing that to my attention!"

Right you are John and Tom. When I built my car (all 29 times) I made sure that the safety items that my car needs in order to pass tech were addressed. No bungee cords holding down the battery, dual return springs and such. Why anyone would race a car that isn't qualified to run the times/speed it runs is beyond me.
