Aftermarket thermostat housing for 455?

Is there an aftermarket thermostat housing for my Edelbrock Performer? I still have the stock one but would like something that would match up better with the aluminum intake.

Also, while I'm at it, what thermostat should I use for the Stage 1 455? I'm using it primarily on the street, around town.

By the way, I tracked down a good machine shop to mill the intake to match up to my heads as we discovered in my previous thread. Jess Miller's in West Chester. They were great. Didn't talk down to me (which is VERY easy to do!) and are going to have the intake back to me in a couple of days. Sweet!

Mick, the stocker is aluminum, the aftermarket ones are cast iron. They should be available anywhere. IMHO, the stock aluminum would be the better choice with an aluminum manifold. The gasket surface sometimes deteriorates, but you can sand it flat, or use a large sharpening stone and a little oil. Just surface it.

Use a 160 or 180 T stat. You want the engine to run at 175-185. Some rebuilt BBB's are hard pressed to do that without some help

Bruno is "Buick Parts Central" of Long Island If he is selling you a part, it is a part that is used, but in good condition. You might have to paint it, that's about it. Bruno is a standup guy

Suggestion on the aluminum housing. If you spend a little time on it with a file, sandpaper, and a polishing wheel you can make it look like a billet aluminum piece. Just my .02
