That's pretty cool. I assume those are steel? I have seen them make plastic plates that look real enough. Vendors at Carlisle make plastic ones to order while you wait. They used to be about $20.00 for one.
Yes they a real steel and stamped just like the old plates were done by inmates in the old days. As for the registration sticker, that I had to locate on ebay, for an addition 19 dollars, but not a reproduction, it's the real McCoy
NYS lets you register those plates? Are they considered "Vanity" plates?
Sure beats hunting ebay and fle markets for a good set...

I forgot to mention the plastic ones they sell at Carlisle are basically just engraved with a router. what you have there is far superior.

They are a little costly and duplicates of the plates I have on the car already. I suggest that you carry your regular plates with you so if stopped you can put on the real plates"I forgot to switch them back"
I thought carrying my front plate in the car would be safe until the cop gave me a ticket for "No Front Plate" when I had the bra on my 'Vette. His words: "wasn't on the car when I stopped you, that's all that matters". And that was a NYS Trooper upstate NY.
Gary,
The Trooper is right, the plates must be affixed to the vehicle, my plates are affixed to the car under the reproduction plates.
