215 tranny

hey guys
new to the forum.
can anyone tell me if the 215 aluminium eng will bolt up to any of the late 4 spd. od transmissions without an adapter??? specifically, i have a 200 4r trans with dual bolt pattern that i want to use to replace the flattie eng. and trans in a 53 merc project i am working on. i understand that the 215 can be fairly easly be modified for more cubes, and it seems like a good choice for my cruiser, since it won't be raced at all.

I am pretty sure that it will not bolt up to late model stuff. I have a friend who is putting a 215 into an MG limo convertible that he built. He searched for a while before he found a bell housing that would work (stick shift car). I am sure others with more knowledge will chime in.

I read this on another site. I don't know anything about this motor so....

-Special bellhousing is needed to mate to a later GM tranny(not chevy or BOP pattern) Not needed if using original tranny. Bellhousing can be bought at D&D Fab. Here is a link to their web site. http://www.aluminumv8.com/
