'65 Cobra driver wrecks/dies

This is very sad. Report from a local paper last week: A Vienna, VA resident was driving his 65 Cobra out in the boonies and lost control. He hit a telephone pole and rolled over. The police are investigating and think he may have been speeding.

Do ya think???????

Sad to see anyone lose there life over a car, But a true car guy needs to know? replica or original? sick as it may seem, it does account for the collectable crowd.

I dont know if anyone here has a copy of the Shelby World Registry. If you look at the 427 Cobra lists, every other one says "hit bridge abutment- 2 killed", "hit tree- 2 killed", etc..

You wonder what the last words were just prior to the accident. Im sure it was either " Hey, watch this" or "Hold my beer, I want to try something"

If it was a 65 I think it would be a 289 car and I don't think they ever made any replicas of them. Every replica I have seen was of a 427 car with the fender flares.

They(unique motorcars) are just a few miles from me. I have never went and looked at the shop they have, probably a good idea not to look because I would want one of the cars...

Sounds like they are lethal.
