This is the epitome of asinine. Per the November Car Craft, Ford is aggressively seeking to protect the Mustang brand name.
All companies must cease and desist using the word "Mustang" in their business name or web address or face a potential lawsuit.
Lawyers have told the first businesses they've targeted that they must turn over internet domain names to Ford; change company names; turn over business cards, stationary, signs and related items; and provide Ford with a $5000 cashier's check to cover damages, among other requirements.
Ford fears the usage might be misconstrued as an affiliation with Ford. Companies with a Ford licensing agreement are exempt from this court action.
Ford is likely to enforce the trademarks "stang and "pony as well.
I will never buy another Ford product as long as I live and I will go out of my way to single them out at the track for a special humiliation.
What a bunch of butt-wipes! Unreal.
