MT Super Scavenger Headers - anyone use them?

I have them on my 455. I love them. They have a very unique sound. The 18" box like collector has the primary pipes ending at different points in the collector./ This enables the primary pipes to be equal length. They are great for a street car. I don't think there is much difference betweeen headers. They all will make more or less HP at different RPM's. The flanges are nice and thick. I have no problem whatsoever with the bolts getting loose. Fit is good. Comes a little close to the steering shaft but it's OK. I don't have any dings for clearance in my set. Mine were one of the first GSCA runs. Don't know how good the subsequent runs were.

Oh yes . . . the tone of the Super scavenger headers, when open will knock your socks off! The day I installed mine, (after the shop closed) I ran out of time to do the exhaust mods, so drove it home WITH OPEN HEADERS! Yep, lived on the edge a little back then . . . anyway, when I returned to the shop I parked in front of the shop owners house and went in. The housekeeper was running around hysterical thinking there had been a earthquake! Yep, the sound don't get no sweeter than that. A '70 - 455 Stage one breathin' fire in the morning! Ahhhhhhhh

GS Club of America (May/June 2010 issue) is taking names and numbers to make a run of them(MT Super Scavenger headers). $700 a set, but if they get 50 commitments they can sell them for $600 a set. That includes bolts, reducers, gaskets and cermachrome plating. Production run would be in about 8 months at best, though. They say to call or drop em a post card with your address and phone number if you want a set.
