Old? Buick Pictures!

I was looking through some of my Buick pictures that I found in an envelope in the bottom of a dresser drawer and I thought I'd share them with you. First up: My much beloved and sorely missed '70 Stage1 powered Skylark Convertible. Best it ran was 12.76 at 108. This picture was taken at Island Dragway in July, 1989. Mooney got familiar with it when it was a shell of it's former self. He robbed all kinds of hardware out of it as it sat in the mud behind Stage 1 Auto for a few years. I finally sold the shell after parting out most of it. My poor baby.

Next up: This was the first trip my '65 made to Buick Day at Englishtown. This was back in 1992. Notice Rick's GS sitting next door? I liked it better painted red!

Here's one of me with Engie's little brother Anthony. Somehow, this picture makes me look thinner than I am now. That's wierd. And look at that hair!

Thanks for posting the great pictures...it's interesting to see how the old 65 has evolved with the times...and it's also comforting to know that the "Mullet" was/is not just a southern thing.

I went from 3.31s to 3.90s in the 12-bolt to a 9-inch Ford from Currie that had a Detroit Locker and 4.11s. The convertor was a K-B switch pitch 11-inch 3000 high stall. As I recall, the gear changes netted me some 60-ft and a ET, but weren't worth the loss of drivability. Greg Gessler told me one day down at Atco back in 1989 or so...."If I were you, I'd have left the 3.31s in there!" Words to live by.
