I just haven't been on line since I posted that. Ackerson auto body(where bodies go in without returning
), but no worries as NOBODY here would ever run into the their small dump in Dayton, KY... But it was probably closer to being a prisoner of war in Nam rather than body shop jail, as there are scars, broken pieces, etc...

This Tuesday I'll be going down to discuss money, as I have not even brought that up with him. I'll be fortunate to get 2 sheep and a dog.![]()
For several weeks I had been trying to haul the stuff to Mark's, but everything that could go wrong did. This week started out ok, I went to work at 6:00am and when I found I could borrow our companys truck, & thats all it took. So at 4:00pm Mon, I left work with their truck to get the trailer I had permission to borrow. Murphys Law was still running strong, as I couldn't reach the guy by phone, which I had been trying since Saturday. So I asked my buddy who set me up with the trailer (I had never met the owner, but spoke by phone a few time weeks before), what he thought about me cutting off the locks (and replacing them) and taking the trailer. He said it sounded fine, and off I went.
As I get to the trailer, I see it needs 2&5/16" ball, and I have a 2". So I go buy the ball, and see I need the larger tongue too.It took a little while to cut the lock ( it was cold and dark) with the bolt cutter (I also borrowed from work), as they are supposed to be designed not to be cut with such a tool. I hope nobody here thinks their trailer is safe with that lock.

I'm now driving down the freeway to KY to get the frame, body, engine and trans, it is about 8:00. All the other parts I had taken to my house weeks earlier. I get there, then cut the back locks, only to find the owner keeps his 2&5/15" hitch inside. At this shop there is only the two of us to load the car.

I finally get back home at 11:00pm, and start loading the trailer full of parts, finishing at 3:30am. I really wished at this point that I had not played basketball during lunch for 2 hours with the young, fast kids at the Y, as all my joints were hurting a bit, with strong pain in my back and neck.![]()
You think I'd a jumped in bed, but no, I jump in the truck and start driving south to Atlanta from north side of Cincinnati.I just couldn't wait any longer, and wanted to get all this behind me. I arrived in time for lunch, then took a tour of the Then & Now!

It was probably a good thing I was so tired, because I'm afraid I wouldn't have left.
![]()
It was 5:00pm and I decided it was time to start heading back, figuring I'd take a nap along the way once I felt too tired to drive on. I arrived home at 2:00am, without any nap somehow...Got up at 7:00am, cleaned and returned the trailer, and went to work at noon.
I made it.

Well, congradulations are in order then! Another Buick that will soon see the open road!![]()
Whew ! The things we do for our cars, huh?
When you walk into the showroom at Then And Now, and for the first time see your car looking better than the day it rolled off the assembly line, all the work pays off. It is a day you wish would never end. Unlike me, be sure you have a camera that actually works. Then bring it up to BG and let everyone see. Something every man should experience at least once in his life.
