Where would you buy or send your trans off to be built?

Thinking of installing a shift kit but with over 80,000 now on the clock I think it would be best to have it freshed up.

Dunno if there is anyone local I could trust.

Buying new really isn't that much with the peace of mind when it comes from a good company.

But is there anyone in the community that re-builds and or sells them?

Should I stick with TH350 go to a TH400 or a 200R4 for OD?

I had mine done at Janis Transmissions in Akron, OH. Vince Janis is a Buick guy (he has a 9 second GN). He did my 200-4R for me. I love it and haven't had a lick of trouble from it.

I used Jim Weise at trishield performance. He installed a switch pitch and it is one awesome transmission. I know forever is long time, but I do not ever forsee this tranny failing me.

FYI

It will be going into my boat but will one day end up in lark when I find my plain jane one to build the sleeper from hell.

So what kind of stall would you use that wont be to much for the weight but nice later when I lose a few tons?

Im all in shop mod as some fool gave me a credit card, yea me MR Red Flag

torque converter lockup depends on a lot of things
in relation to function of car, type of car, cam shaft, torque converter, flow of heads, and rear end gears in about that order.
