It's that time of year again. Re-plating of hood latches ! !

Hi, I've been doing this for the club for the last 3 years. If you have a hood latch or a pair of disc brake spindles, I can get them re-plated in the correct yellow gold cad plating.

Price is $43 if you send me your hood latch and just get it re-plated. For $52 you also get all three new springs. Hood latches will be cleaned, bead blasted, and I have been able to also get the stress cracks fixed that seem to be so prevelant in these things.

I will need a minimum of 20 hood latches to make it a go. Otherwise it's not economically feasible without charging a bunch more money. I won't be doing any trading this year of hood latches for the service as I already have some redone and ready for sale.

If you want to just buy one, I do have some done and ready to go. They have new springs and can be bolted right on. Price is $95.

All prices include shipping back to you. So if you're interested, just post here so I can get a count and see if it's going to work. Here's some pics of what they'd look like redone.

Yes, I can do, gulp, non-Buick stuff. But I draw the line at MOPAR and Fords.

Hey Phil... not real heavy in the pocket book right now.... but i'll send ya mine if you get the other 19 guys. I'll go for the plating of mine, plus the new springs. i don't think it is cracked but ya never know what a cleaning may reveal. I was going to do this with you last year and time got tight. my hood is off right now any way for changing out my fenders to an NOS pair... Thanks to GSDave

That's fine. I forgot to say that I would want to get all the hood latches by Thanksgiving. This way I can get everything done and back to everyone by the end of the year. It looks like I have at least 12 already, so as soon as it gets to 20, I'll start another thread to go ahead and send them in as well as post here.

Just to let everyone know. I discretely mark everyone's hood latch. That way you get back what you sent to me. It's up to 15, so I just need a couple of more and we can make a go of this.

OK, I've got what appears to be my twenty hood latches. So if you like, you can start sending them to me. I would like to have them all by Thanksgiving. This will give me the time to get them prepped and to the plater before he closes down for Christmas.

One thing, when I figured out my costs, I forgot to add for shipping back to people, so I need to add $5.00 to each price. So it will be $43 for just a re-plating and $52 for re-plating and new springs. Sorry about that.
