I pop in here from time to time, and it is apparent that many V8 members post here too. So, I was wondering if there was a philosophical difference between the two that separates them, or do they simply complement each other?
Thanks Frank Brooks

Two different owners, that's all.
This is a board for club members, and pretty much open to anyone who wants to join in the board conversations. Most folks who are members here, are members at v8 as well.

Frank,
The V8 forum is just that..a forum. The BPG on the other hand is also a forum, but also has events that the members can attend. For example, there is the BPG Nats in Ohio,as well as one that Yardley has at his picnic. There are more members on here that also post/visit V8 Buick than not. It saddens me that more traffic isn't on this site except when V8 is down. There seems to be less drama on here than V8. I know of a few V8 members that have stated this is where the troublemakers end up in their posts. Not true! To be honest, I know about 80-90% of the members here and they are just a bunch of car guys that like to kid around. Sometimes they stretch the limits, but I can honestly say this, they would bend over backwards to help you when you are in need, would gladly give you the shirt off their backs(sometimes even their pants too... lol) I have never been associated with a better bunch of people. They have offered to put me up with them, feed me, as well as haul me to events so I could be there. In actuality, there is very little difference between the 2 member wise. Its the personalities that make the differences. I am not bashing either forum.Ibelieve both have a place in the Buick world and will coexist. I read here as well as v8 and there are members who post here that wont post on V8,so you have to read both to gain more knowledge. Stick around and watch, its a great place to hang out.

The V-8 site is exactly that, a website.
From what I was told the V8 site was originally created to answer questions about v-8 powered buicks, while the BPG site was to be used for club information. Both were geared towards creating meeting places where fellow owners or aficionados could get together and discuss part needs, mutual problems, show events, etc.
The main difference is that the BPG is a car club, with it's own members, Racing/Show event, website, and Club Newsletter. It is also not a V-8 powered only club, but is geared towards all types of Buick performance vehicles. We welcome all buick powered vehicles, as the numbers of Regals/T Types/Gran Nationals that attended our last event can attest to.
So there you have it, one is a website and the other is a car club with a website.
Duane
Thanks. Have club activities taken place in Texas before?

I like both sites myself.
I'd love to join the BPG. Anyone have info on becoming a member? How much to get a newsletter? And how often do you get one?
