1969 GS Restoration Photos

I got this car in early 07. It had been in my family since purchased new. Henry White may remember me he convinced me to take this car to Mark Reeves to have the restoration done on it, we was pretty convincing! Anyway, the car is almost finished and here are some photos. When I got this car it had a rats nest under the hood, it took me two days to get all the stuff out of it. Got it down to marietta to find out the original 400 in it was not salvageable. I decided since it wasnt going to be orginal anyway to make it a stage 1 car so Mark has put in a 455 Stage1 motor (over 500HP), a 4 speed and a 12 bolt posi. So this car is gonna be a monster! Hope you guys like it.

Mark Reeves builds fine cars, I remember my car was on that same lift 3 years ago, and I'm here to report that I am still very very happy with the car today. I just turn the key and go.

Well, the car is finished, it's been a long three years and I plan to have this car at home sometime this next week. Thanks Mark and Crew. I dont know if there is another 69 like mine anywhere, not only restored to this level, but also with the performance upgrades mine has. Thanks for looking.

Very nice, Matt!!! What are you running for springs, shocks and tire size? That is the stance I am going for on my ragtop...
Also, post pics of it in the SUNLIGHT!!!!

thanks, I'll get some pics of it in the sunlight when i get it home. As far as shocks and springs and tire size, I'm pretty sure the shocks and springs are stock replacement, and the only thing I told mark was that I wanted some good performance tires on it. I pretty much let him do what he wanted or thought was best with the whole project. I'll give ya more specific info when get the car here. I'll probably have an extra set of rear tires on standby cause with 550 HP and the 4 speed I dont know how long those will stay on it!

Beautiful car(of course I'm prejudiced) you should be very happy and proud. Yes,there is a similar one to yours,I also have a twilight blue 4speed.But with black bench seats.Look forward to seeing it,I'm intending to have mine at the BPG,hopefully we can have a pop together and I can check yours out in person.

I took the car to it's first show last weekend, the Altus Oklahoma Rock N Rumble Car Show and Cruise. Car did very well. 350 or so cars in the show. My car got 2nd overall out of all makes, and won the award for Best Paint. Only two cars at this show won 2 awards and mine was one of them so I was pretty happy with it!.
