looks like big Doug....the "wagon slayer" as he has been called by some ...
Yep, Doug was present for the birth of my two last race engines. I guess you can call him the "GodFather"Instead of yelling "push, push", he was "yelling higher, rev it higher"

Thanks Rick for sharing that is a good setup.
Can you give use some detailed Specs of the Engine
The video I recently located so I figured on sharing it, the video was shot in May 2008 year. This new engine is pretty much a clone to my old one which also made 780 hp. The old engine broke a lifter bore, and yes I had a lifter bore girdle on it. Only difference now is the block is stronger built as the lifter galley is now epoxy filled along with better oiling coming into the engine from the rear and front face of the block straight to the mains along with the stock locations where oil enters the block, and the addition of Jezel Rockers. So far this engine I managed a 9.31 where as my old one got me a 9.25, so I'm almost there. My GS weighs with me 3,080 and I'm using a Coan 5,000 stall and 4.30 gears out the rear.
I attached basic work done on the engine. Take note on the dyno sheet the barometer was 29.7. So with a really good 30+ barometer it should be making over 800 hp. With this one I know my limitations as I can build a good mild stocker but this one I wanted to leave the "Oh Sh7t" factor, which is me, out of the loop. All I wanted to do this time is sign the checks and install a completed broken-in and dynoed engine and go racing![]()

Rick I feel honored to have those stats.
Chevy guys wouldn't give that info if their moms life depended on it.
I love the Buick community.
I will be making a copy of this for the record!!![]()

What good is all that horsepower if it's just blowing through the converter?
Get it out and give it to me so we can get it rebuilt!!!!!![]()
How Big is the Carb Rick is it out the Box or is it worked any Spacers and how much carb jetting how much timming?.
It's a 1050 Holley. Its has been worked a guy that Jim Haas recommended four years ago. I'll have to dig up the name, he is located in Florida.
The spacer is 1"
Timing at 38 degrees it made the most HP. We tried above and below and it dropped.
Jetting was 94's all around. We also went up and down and this was where it peaked.
Now mind you it was humid and drizzling outside, the barometer was 29.9 so I would figure with better air the jetting can be adjusted along with the timing for an increase in HP. But it is what it is, second time ever on a dyno with as many engines and both times the weather sucked.
