do headers exist for a 69 wildcat with 430bb ?

Sorry, I don't know of any bolt-in headers. Here's a quote from www.taperformance.com:

Currently there is not a direct fit header available. TA
2012CH Competition headers can be made to fit with
the assistance of a fabrication shop. Reroute the #5 &
7 tubes to clear the steering box. Clearance #2 tube

for idler arm.

On the latest newsletter from the BPG's "The Build Sheet",on the inside of the back cover,TA has a rather interesting blurp under the Coming Soon heading.It reads "New for the first time ever,a 455 shorty header is available for '67-'70 Wildcats & Electras.Features 1 7/8" primaries and 3" collectors." There's no price listed but I imagine that it will be in line with the other shorty listings available from them.I'm hoping that they have them ready for delivery when I get to the point for installing duals on my '69 Electra.

Thanks for the info. I get the cat back from the shop today with all new dual exhaust. I went with what I have on my other classics, 40 series flowmasters. The heat riser on the driver side exhaust manifold was rusted down. They asked about headers and I told them I hadn't found any yet. Hopefully they'll have those shorties when I do my engine build up.

Why won't the current shorty header fit?

I always wondered that myself but if I'm not mistaken,I believe that on a discussion over at V8 there was something said about the layout of the steering components being on the way of the headers on the big cars.From the description on the TA catalog refering to the existing shorty headers,it states:"They were originally made for Cruciform framed('67-'70) Rivieras,but also fit other popular combinations and transplants."Bellow the pictures of the headers it states:"Requires 28" width between frame rails."
